Project Details

The 2025 Berlin Marathon marked a defining milestone for endurance athlete Kim Gottwald. Known primarily for ultra-distance racing, this was his first official marathon. A transition to a faster, more condensed race format demanding a different level of precision and intensity. A special thank you to Michel Böhmler for organizing the entire media documentation with Kim and for bringing us on board to capture this experience together.

SCOPE OF WORK

Pre-Production & Planning

Strategic positioning and timing were essential to cover the event effectively. In preparation for Sunday’s race, key locations along the course of the Berlin Marathon were mapped to ensure consistent visual coverage throughout the different stages of the run.

Production

All content was captured on race day. From early-morning arrival and warm-up routines to multiple race-course positions and the finish line, the documentation focused entirely on the intensity and progression of the marathon itself. While Michel concentrated on high-impact photography, Lukas crafted the cinematic video perspective, capturing movement, pace, and the atmosphere under live race conditions.

Post-Production & Delivery

The final assets were curated into an extensive photo and video gallery, professionally edited and optimized for social media use. The content provides Kim with versatile material ranging from performance-driven highlights to personal milestone moments.

The Result

A comprehensive visual documentation of Kim Gottwald’s first marathon capturing not only performance, but the atmosphere, pressure, and personal milestone behind it. The final gallery equips him with premium, ready-to-publish content that reflects both his athletic identity and this pivotal step in his running career.
